The Story

It is in 1970, at the age of 19, that Jean-Claude SENSEMAT creates his first company in the South-west of France. He launches the concept of "the workshop to the farm" sells successfully the tools and the machines for the workshops.

In France, it is the birth of the hypermarkets which begin their activity and will change the retail trade forever.

Jean-Claude SENSEMAT becomes quickly, with the tools import-export company which he directs, the privileged supplier privileged for the French and European ensigns of Hypermarkets with the brands that he creates in the course of time like: RHINO, COGEX, TURBOFEE, TUBOCAR, PELLETIER etc…

He understands the universalization of the exchanges, twenty years before anyone speaks about it. Pioneer in Asia, where he works very quickly with India, and then the China of Mao Tsé Tung since 1975, and later with the Countries of Eastern Europe, then separated from the world by the iron curtain.

He establishes offices and subsidiary companies in Taipei and Hong-Kong.

In a few years, Jean-Claude SENSEMAT leads his company through 70 countries.

He company, the Sensemat Group, becomes leader in Europe in its trade.

The accumulated profits lead the economic press to classify, in the Nineties, the professional fortune of Jean-Claude SENSEMAT at the 150th rank In France and its company to the 75rd rank among the most powerful companies of the Country.

The always growing success of the various import-export companies makes it possible to Jean-Claude SENSEMAT to make his native department, Gers, benefit of the repurchase of the various industrial waste lands like the buildings of the Seita in Auch, Grundig in Fleurance, Hugues Tools in Mirande and the Ruche Méridionale (southern hive) in Agen.

In the same dash, he creates various distribution firms at the four corners of Europe: Spain, Belgium, Portugal.

Jean-Claude SENSEMAT becomes the first private employer of the department of Gers located in the South-west of France.

Its implication in the local context leads him to create a newspaper of departmental information, "la Gascogne". He uses his taste for the communication and writing to enlighten the reader with his experience, by publishing two works : "La Patronade" and "a moment of Gascogne".

It is in 2000 that Jean-Claude SENSEMAT will be victim of a malevolent entourage, among which an Justice auxiliary, who will be imprisoned for four years and will be barred for life as receiver by the French Ministry of Justice. The tools import-export company was put in difficulty.

The name of Jean-Claude SENSEMAT will remain engraved like the contractor who brought the most economic resources to the department of Gers during the 20th century.

The creativity and the dynamism of Jean-Claude SENSEMAT led it him develop the other parts of his activities, such as the LIP watches, which he had acquired in 1990. This universally known brand marked the world of the timepiece industry.

Several Heads of State, throughout the World, wore LIP watches. It is Jean-Claude SENSEMAT who made Bill Clinton wear a Lip watch too.

In 2002, after having started again with great success the LIP wachmaking brand, Jean-Claude SENSEMAT entrusted a world Licence of this brand to the MGH Manufacture Générale Horlogère (General Wacthmaking Workshop) company.

The well-known probity of Jean-Claude SENSEMAT led the President of the Republic of France and the Government of the Republic of ALBANIA, in September 2002 to name him as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Albania for thirty three departments of the south of France

In 2003, from his offices of Capitole Company in Toulouse, Jean-Claude SENSEMAT opened several Internet E-trade sites in several branches of industry of online sales and also carried out real estate operations.

In 2004 - he decides to report, for the example, his Gersoise period by publishing "Le Délit d’Entreprendre" with the Editions de la Mezzanine, this book of reference becomes a cult success. He also creates TOULOUSE CAPITALE, an informative Web site with a webcam pointed to the Place du Capitole in Toulouse.

He is requested by Robert Lafont to write chronicles in various titles of the Entreprendre press group. He animates a Chronicle under the title "the commonsense of Jean-Claude SENSEMAT". In 2005, Robert Lafont signs a contract with the Capitole company & Co, chaired by Jean-Claude SENSEMAT and lance the Edition of books for this press group.

Capitole & Co take a participation in the capital of the Entreprendre press company from Robert Lafont.

He publishes with these editions his fourth work, "How I saved LIP". His books are downloadable on line, and in particular on Wikipedia.

The SENSEMAT Family decides to emigrate in CANADA, with their son Laurent, who continues studies in International Trade in Montreal since September 2005.

In April 2007, the Government of Canada accomodates Jean-Claude Sensemat and his Family in the "Business People" category, with the advantages which are attached to it.

Jean-Claude SENSEMAT creates and presides the Gestion Geneen.Inc company in Montreal, his wife Martine works at his sides.

In 2008, Jean-Claude SENSEMAT deploys his activities in the watchmaking world for North America, he deploys there his watchmaking brand Lip with the TempusAmerica.ca website for Canada.

It is also the advent of ExpertWatches.com and other sites which make it possible to make safe the sale of pre-owned watches from well-known timepiece brands.

Inspired by the evolution of his life, Jean-Claude SENSEMAT makes his Paulo Coelho’s motto :

"The future was created to be changed".

2009 - Jean-Claude SENSEMAT owns some condominiums located in the very center of Montreal.

2011 - He develops Gestion Geneen Inc., both in Canada and Thailand by opening a sourcing and council office in Bangkok, Pongsomthai Co. Ltd.
